DESIGN FOR THE LONG TERM

VALUES
Just so we know where we stand. We might not agree on everything and it’s ok.

No rush
Low time preference: go slow rather than crash the car. Don't build fast and break things.

Bitcoin does not use enough energy
Electricity is not a perfect energy transfer medium. It struggles through space and time: indeed it doesn’t like long distances and cannot be stored at scale.

Because of this, there is unused capacity in the world's energy grids in the form of
1) stranded energy that cannot be transported,
2) a mismatch between real-time production and demand.

There is an issue with our money
It’s not new and it has been the case ever since humans started using money.
If you had the ability to legally print money and you needed some urgently, would you do it? Of course you would. This is what most governments on the planet have been doing since WW1.
Humans need a form of global neutral money where supply cannot be inflated and issuance schedule is set in stone. It doesn’t need to be used by everyone; it just needs to exist so that individuals can fall back to it whenever they need to.
